Volume tiers and pricing

Bulk matcha pricing is quote-based because the numbers shift depending on grade, origin, volume and delivery schedule. As a rough guide, here's how our tiers work:

5kg to 25kg — shipped in sealed foil-lined bags, priced per kilo. Good for businesses testing a new supplier or running smaller production batches.

25kg to 100kg — this is where pricing starts to move meaningfully. Most new bulk customers land here.

100kg to 500kg — contract pricing available, with scheduled deliveries if you prefer regular shipments over single large orders.

500kg and above — we source to order at these volumes, working with our farm partners in Japan and China to lock in pricing for the season or the year.

We're transparent about pricing because we know bulk buyers shop around. If you've got a competing quote, send it over — we'll match or beat it on a like-for-like grade and origin basis.

Dual-origin sourcing

We source matcha from both Japan and China, and we're upfront about the reasons. Japanese matcha, particularly from Uji, Kagoshima and Shizuoka, is the benchmark for ceremonial and premium culinary grades. The processing standards, shade-growing techniques and stone-grinding methods are well established, and buyers in the premium drinks and retail space expect Japanese origin on the label.

Chinese matcha has improved significantly in quality over the last decade and offers a genuine cost advantage for applications where origin isn't the primary selling point — think supplement manufacturing, food production lines, or blended drinks where matcha is one component among several. We source from farms that meet the same organic certification standards as our Japanese supply.

We'll always recommend the right origin for your application. There's no point paying Japanese pricing for matcha that's going into a protein bar.

Quality, certification and logistics

Every bulk order ships with a certificate of analysis covering heavy metals, microbiology, pesticide residues and nutritional profile. We hold organic certification across our supply chain, and we can provide spec sheets formatted for your quality team's requirements.

If your production process needs specific particle size, moisture content or colour values (L*a*b), tell us upfront. We can source to spec rather than asking you to work around whatever arrives.

Sample packs are available before you commit to any volume. We'd rather send you 100g of three different grades than have you order 50kg of the wrong one.

Logistics

Bulk orders under 50kg ship from our UK warehouse, typically within two to three working days. Larger orders may ship direct from origin depending on your timeline and cost preferences — UK-warehoused stock means faster delivery, while direct-from-origin shipping reduces the per-kilo cost on large volumes.

We handle all customs clearance, import documentation and phytosanitary certificates on direct shipments. You receive the matcha, the paperwork, and an invoice. That's it.
